Silicon wafer factory global wafers held a grand opening ceremony on the 16th in Sherman, Texas, Texas, USA, and wished the official launch of its latest and most advanced 12-inch silicon wafer factory GlobalWafers America (GWA). The Globe Globe officially decided to set up its flagship manufacturing base in the United States in May 2022, and held a commencement ceremony in Thalman City, Texas on December 2 of the same year. The project, with a total investment of $3.5 billion, has so far created 1,200 building-related jobs and 180 long-term job vacancies in northern Texas, and is expected to recruit up to 650 engineering, technical and operation professionals by the end of 2028.

At the opening ceremony, Chairman Xu Xiulan announced that the company intends to expand its manufacturing base in the United States. Xu Xiulan said that in the event that the announcement of the launch of the GWA for three years, the GWA planned to invest $4 billion in an additional code, and the total investment in the United States reached $7.5 billion. As market growth trends and more favorable tax structures will help to cost-effectively expand in the United States, the Globe intends to add the third and fourth phases of the existing Schalmann foundation. The Globe is the only supplier to produce advanced Globes locally in the United States. With the continuous support of the US government and Trump's direction of administration, this investment is expected to help ensure the support of the advanced Globe supply required for a variety of new generation technologies and innovation.

General Manager of the Global Grid Mark England said in his opening speech that GWA will fill a key gap in the US semiconductor supply chain and create a more complete and self-sufficient local semiconductor ecosystem, making it more sensitive and forward-looking. In fact, GWA is the only advanced silicon wafer round manufacturing factory participating in the full process of the US government's "CHIPS for America Program", and is also the first complete silicon wafer round manufacturing line to be built in more than 20 years.

According to the Chip Program (CHIPS Program) ──The "US Investment Acceleration Program" newly implemented by President Trump──The US Department of Commerce has subsidized a total of US$406 million for the US investment plan of the global crystal to rebuild the key link in the US semiconductor supply chain. Michael Grimes, executive director of the U.S. Investment Acceleration Office, said in the ceremony that investment in the U.S. Globe is one of the ultimate examples of the return of key industry manufacturing in the U.S., and President Trump and Secretary of Commerce Lutnick have brought semiconductor manufacturing back to the U.S. vision as a core goal. Through cooperation with the bulb, we ensure that the essential key material of advanced wafers, silicon crystal, can be manufactured locally in the United States. The current investment in the Globe, coupled with the new promise announced today, will strengthen the long-term stability of the U.S. in Globe supply, benefiting future generations.

Xu Xiulan also emphasized that in the United States, there is no place that welcomes and supports corporate development more than Texas, Grayson County and Thalman City. The Globe is fortunate to be part of the "Silicon Prairie" blueprint they carefully created. Texas State Greg Abbott also pointed out that we are deeply proud of GWA's choice of Texas as its base. The addition of the global crystal has made Texas' existing semiconductor industry more complete, and has also made Texas the only state in the United States with advanced silicon wafer manufacturing capabilities.

The sphere is one of the world's five leading semiconductor wafer suppliers, and is also the only businessman who chooses to expand in the United States among this wave of supply chain regionalization trends. Ashlie Wallace, Vice President of GlobalFoundries Global Supply Chain, also expressed his affirmation on behalf of many customers, saying that as a long-term strategic partner, we are very pleased to see that the global wafers expand its domestic silicon wafer supply capacity in the United States, which are important to the key semiconductors we produce.

GWA's 142-UK New Park plan in Thalmann can accommodate up to six phases of expansion. In conjunction with the third and fourth phases of strategic expansion plans announced on the 16th, there is still room for the last two phases of expansion, which will significantly increase capacity, in response to the demand growth brought by chip manufacturers' announcements in the United States over the next decade. As its core mission, global subsidiaries are committed to practical green manufacturing. After the GWA factory is operating to the mass production stage, it will use 100% renewable energy to manufacture the world's most advanced silicon wafers. The Global Crystal Group promises to continuously reduce environmental impact while promoting the innovation of the next generation of semiconductors.
