International Semiconductor Industry Association (SEMI) statistics show that the shipment of semiconductor silicon wafers in the second quarter reached 3.327 billion square inches, a record high in two years. SEMI said that the semiconductor silicon crystal circle market is gradually recovering.

SEMI pointed out that the second quarter's semiconductor silicon wafer shipment area was 3.327 billion square inches, an increase of 14.9% from the first quarter and a 9.6% increase from the same period last year, the highest since the third quarter of 2023.

SEMI said that high-frequency wide memory (HBM) and other artificial intelligence data center chips have continued to have strong demand for silicon wafers, and the energy utilization rate of other components is generally low, but the inventory water level is returning to normal.

SEMI pointed out that semiconductor silicon wafer shipments show an aggressive trend, but future geopolitical and supply chain trends are still uncertain.
