Qualcomm and Valeo announced today (8th) that the two parties will further expand their long-term cooperation to provide advanced driving assistance system (ADAS) and automatic driving (AD) solutions to global automotive industries.

Qualcomm pointed out that this technical cooperation will integrate expanded Snapdragon Ride Pilot solutions, including Snapdragon Ride system single wafer (SoC) and Snapdragon Ride ADAS/AD software stacking, as well as Valeo's professional knowledge in software hardware, including automatic parking software algorithms, sensors, ECU systems and their integration and verification. Both parties have worked hard to create a comprehensive solution for functional safety and network security design, with differentiated intermediary software and services.

Nakul Duggal, general manager of Qualcomm Motor, Industry and Embedded Materials Network, said that the long-term cooperation with Valeo continues to deepen, and is responsible for the growing market demand for the best-same, expandable, safety-centric ADAS and automatic driving solutions. By combining Snapdragon Ride solution with Valeo’s certified system technology experts in parking solutions, sensors and systems integration, we enable automakers to accelerate innovation and bring the next generation of driving experience to the market faster and more efficiently.

Valeo Brain Executive Marc Vrecko pointed out that the cooperation is based on the years of successful cooperation between Valeo and Qualcomm Technology. "We have created a complete system solution that integrates the best-in-class hardware, software and system technology experts to provide automotive manufacturers with a flexible and future-friendly platform to meet the expectations of global driving changes."

Based on the basis of successfully launching products with different global automobile manufacturers, the two parties have further cooperated to launch a pre-integrated AD/ADAS solution to simplify the automotive-level deployment process and meet the key needs of global automobile manufacturers to accelerate product launches. This solution includes a complete set of mass-production sensors, a computing unit, and a wide range of applications that support hand-free driving, automatic parking, driving and passenger monitoring, and built-in NCAP five-star safety features.

This expansion system also supports a wide variety of hardware configurations, covering centralized high-performance computing from entry-level systems to software-defined vehicles (SDVs). This system integrates ADAS and car load information entertainment (IVI) features into a single unit equipped with Snapdragon Ride Flex system single wafer (SoC), not only with simplified deployment and reduce system complexity.

Snapdragon Ride SoC and Ride Pilot AD/ADAS software are now available worldwide, and are jointly provided by Valeo and Qualcomm Technology to promote market deployment.
