Manchester City announced that midfielder Kovasic has undergone surgery for an Achilles tendon injury. He will be absent for about three months and missed the Club World Cup this summer.
Croatian national team coach Dalic said of Kovasic: "He missed the FA Cup final due to injury. Kovasic originally thought the truce would help him, but things went against his wishes. His heel tendons were painful and swelling. Manchester City decided that he had to undergo surgery, and Kovasic's recovery period was expected to take three months."
