Echo reported that Arsenal will be missing Saka and Havertz to face Liverpool, and Arteta confirmed that five players may be absent.

Arsenal will lose Saka and Havertz in Sunday's game against Liverpool. Gunners coach Arteta confirmed the latest injuries of the two players, while three players' health concerns him.

Premier League title battle won't be decided in August, but beating a potential title rival can send a strong signal. As the defending champion, Liverpool will face last season's runner-up Arsenal in the third week of the new season, and the two teams are one of the only three teams to maintain a full-win record.

Arteta may have five players out of the lineup for Sunday, including star attacker Saka. The 23-year-old was replaced after scoring a goal against Leeds United last weekend. Although the injury is not as severe as initially worried, Arteta has confirmed that Saka will miss Sunday's game against the Reds.

"He's got better, but he'll be out for a few weeks. No surgery is needed," Arteta told reporters at a press conference on Friday. "It's not as serious as last time, but very unfortunate. It was a move that required him to sprint with all his might, and then he changed direction and felt discomfort."

Another Arsenal attacker, Havertz, missed the game against Leeds after suffering a knee injury in his first season against Manchester United. He was also not included in the German national team's international match list this week.

Before the match against Liverpool, Arteta clarified: "I think he will be out for a few weeks, but hopefully not for a few months. It's very sad. It's part of our career and now we're losing another player for a few weeks."

Next, Arteta needs to wait for Odge, Ben White and Noelgao to play in Anfield. Odge also suffered an injury against Leeds United and was forced to leave the field with a shoulder injury in the first half.

Arteta said: "We don't know if Odegao can play, he has not participated in training. If he can, it will be tomorrow. He does have an injury, but if everything goes well, he can handle it."

White missed the game against Leeds United, while Norgoo missed the game against Leeds United and previous at Old Trafford, and was subsequently excluded from the Danish national team's international match list.

"We don't know yet. Let's see what happens to both of them tomorrow and whether to give them a chance to compete." Arteta said of the pair.

From Liverpool's perspective, Slotte announced that McAllister, Bradley and Van Dijk have all resumed training and are ready to face Arsenal. Argentine midfielder McAllister missed Monday's match against Newcastle, Northern Ireland defender Bradley made a substitute, while Dutch captain Van Dijk was injured in a red card foul by Anthony Gordon. Flynnon has confirmed his absence due to hamstring problems and will not return until after September international match day.
