Manchester night reported that 21-year-old Toby Collier is expected to leave Manchester United on loan this summer.

Collier made his first appearance for Manchester United in last year's Community Shield against Manchester City, but so far he has only started three times for the club. As one of five centre-forwards under Manchester United head coach Amorin, Manchester United intends to facilitate Collier's loan transfer, which will pave the way for the team to sign a new midfielder.

Collier joined Manchester United's youth training camp from Brighton in 2022 and renewed his contract with the club last summer. However, he missed 28 games last season due to three injuries and made only 13 appearances. Sources said that for Collier's development, he "must be loaned out" and Collier himself is determined to win a first-team position.

Collier: "First of all, I want to stay here and play as much as possible for Manchester United. I'll sit down with the head coach and senior management to discuss what's the best path for me, whether it's staying here or on loan. My ultimate goal is to get as much playing time here as possible and hopefully start every week. So, I'll talk with them. Obviously, I'm feeling now is to stay here and play as much as possible. Honestly, I'm not thinking that far. I'll see how things are going in the next few weeks, and then we'll have these conversations."

"I'll sit down with them and discuss what's the most suitable solution. But as you said, there's not much time in the football world, we need to get results and push the team forward. That's where we're working on now."

Before choosing to join Manchester United in early 2022, Collier had been at the attention of Brentford and Chelsea. His current contract with Manchester United will last until 2027, with an additional year of renewal options. Collier made his first appearance in the 2023-24 season against Manchester City, Liverpool and Arsenal, and last week, Collier appeared in coach Amorin's 3-4-2-1 system as one of the double midfielders in the 2023-24 season, his first start at the position.

Collier: "I think he's trying something new, obviously he has his own ideas. I'm good at running on the court, and then I exchanged positions with Amad. It's the head coach's decision and I'll do it as he asks. Obviously, the head coach knows what he's doing. There's a reason for him to do it. As I said before, I suffered quite a few injuries last season, so he probably doesn't want to overuse me. The head coach understands what he's doing."
